Pas-de-Calais Tourism invites you for a day of exploration
Humanising technology means making it more accessible !

You are invited to grasp the breadth and richness of Tech at the service of tourism's transformation. An event that moves away from technical and scientific demonstrations and applications of technology to reflect on its place in the imaginary and in society.

Preparations

After looking at the map of travel tech's main trends and signals in the presence of the imminent specialists and scholars who surround us on a daily basis, we will see what are the strengths, opportunities and benefits of the new behaviours linked to tech. All those positive changes that have allowed us to correct the trajectory and at the same time reduce the bad practices to the best ones, taking inspiration from the neighbours.

The journey

Once the suitcase is packed, we will begin the descent via five successive capsules punctuated by meetings and inspiring breaks... We will discuss the art of storytelling and imaginary worlds in relation to our territories and values, accessibility to travel thanks to immersive technologies, tech at the service of professions, inclusion, recruitment and management. On the programme: round tables, inspiration time, no-code hackathon.

The Steam-Club

The magmatic, creative and phosphoric climax will take place on Tuesday 28 March at the Louvre Lens Valley in Lens, during workshops specially designed to address your issues. Because creativity is inseparable from the methodology that allows it, you can join one of the 4 Steam-Club workshops led by designers. The organisers will provide the necessary equipment: astrolabe, compass, magnetic compass, GPS, radio, altimeter... You will however have to keep a log of your journey to contribute to the outcome.

Chapters

Just like in Jules Verne's story, the Journey to the Centre of Tech event is offered in two complementary parts: the first, technical and Cartesian, which you can attend via streaming on 7 March, with observations, feedback, trends and prospects. A second time, organised in groups at the Louvre Lens Valley in Lens on 28 March, devoted to the imagination and creativity with inspiring workshops, the search for solutions and the stimulation of creativity. Topics and workshops will be based on the following themes :

This programme, which ends in March 2023, is aimed at tourism companies in the Channel area (France and the United Kingdom). Pas-de-Calais Tourisme is participating in the project with two main actions, one of which is a communication campaign on "new tourism".
