Emblematic site of the mining history of Nord-Pas de Calais
The Métaphone is a performance hall located on the former 9-9 bis mining site, itself marked by the history and the end of coal mining activity in the Pas-de-Calais.
The artistic and cultural project of 9-9 bis, dedicated to contemporary and popular music, is based on the interaction to be established between artistic creation and dissemination and heritage enhancement.
The site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It combines two objectives of cultural action: the safeguarding of heritage and the rooting of cultural development.
